Immediately upon learning the news, Scott quit his job, left his fiancé behind three days before Christmas, and flew to Bali to get on the ground and get his friend to a safe hospital where he could get the level of medical expertise he needed to stabilize his spine, re-inflate his lung, and secure the best possible chance of recovery.
